Description
It is a legal duty to carry out a Legionella Risk Assessment to identify and assess whether there is a risk posed by exposure to Legionella from the hot and cold water system or any work associated with it. Legislation
The Acop L8 ‘The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems” and The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 place strict obligations on ALL employers, building owners and landlords to undertake a Water and Legionella Risk Assessment on all workplace buildings where there is a foreseeable risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria.
This includes hotels, gyms, retail premises, leisure clubs, offices, warehouses and large process systems in factories and foundries etc. This also applies to those who provide residential accommodation or who are responsible for the water system(s) in their premises.

We have the experience where it counts
You are legally required to use a competent person to carry out regular water system risk assessments on workplace buildings. Cambridge Risk Management Ltd can carry out legionella risk assessments in water systems from any of our offices including Cambridge, Manchester, and London.
It is a requirement under Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) to assess the risk from biological hazards which include the deadly Legionella bacteria.
This requirement is further enforced by HSE ACoP (fourth edition) L8: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems.
